Technology
At Insight School of Wisconsin, homework goes high-tech. Almost all of your learning materials are on your laptop, right there at your fingertips. While the Insight program is based on today’s latest online education technology, it is designed to be accessible to any high school student, regardless of his or her computer background.
Technology Approach—Technology enables learning, but it is not the focal point of learning. Insight uses computer technology as a way to connect students with courses, content, instructors and other students—but it is up to students to apply their minds and the knowledge they acquire. Students will pick up valuable skills that enhance their information and communications technology (ITC) literacy and that prepare them to collaborate in a 21st century workforce.
Requirements—Families need little more than a dial-up connection to experience the benefits of online learning through Insight. Full-time students will be provided with a late-model laptop computer with wireless capabilities, a printer, and an Internet reimbursement to help cover the costs of Internet service. By supplying each student with uniform software and hardware, we can provide better support and ensure a consistent and secure educational environment for every student.
Support—If at any time you encounter software or hardware issues, 24-hour technical support is available. Academic support is also available around the clock on demand.
Security—Online courses are accessible through a password-protected learning management system. Laptops are outfitted with software that limits student access to inappropriate websites.
